THIS IS A WARNING THAT SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL IS EXPECTED OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS.
AN INTENSE PACIFIC FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTH COAST OF BRITISH COLUMBIA TODAY. STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS 60 TO 90 KM/H ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER NORTH AND WEST VANCOUVER ISLAND NEAR NOON. STRONG SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS 50 TO 90 KM/H WILL ALSO RISE OVER THE INNER SOUTH COAST AND THE CENTRAL COAST THIS AFTERNOON, THEN SPREAD INTO FRASER VALLEY THIS EVENING. MEANWHILE THE SYSTEM WILL BRING RAIN HEAVY AT TIMES TO METRO VANCOUVER , FRASER VALLEY AND HOWE SOUND TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. ALSO SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 15 CM ARE FORECAST FOR WHISTLER TONIGHT. WINDS WILL ABATE TONIGHT AS THE SYSTEM MOVES EASTWARD.
